Ukulele lessons
The friendliest way into music.
The ukulele is the easiest first instrument I teach. It is small, gentle on the hands, and a beginner can play a real song within the first few lessons. That early win is exactly why it works so well for children and for adults who think they are not musical.
In a ukulele lesson
- Chords, strumming, and a first song fast
- Rhythm and timing the student can feel
- Singing and playing together
- Reading chord charts and simple tab
- A path on to guitar later, if the student wants it
First-time musicians of any age, from around age five up. A favourite for children and for adult absolute beginners.

Ukulele lesson questions
- Is the ukulele a good first instrument for my child?
- It is one of the best. The quick early progress keeps young children motivated, and the instrument is easy on small hands.
- What ukulele should we buy?
- A beginner soprano or concert ukulele is more than enough to start. I can point you to good options once you are on the waitlist.
- Can ukulele lead into guitar?
- Yes. Much of what is learned on ukulele, chords, strumming, and timing, transfers straight to guitar when the student is ready.
