Piano lessons
A real musical foundation, not just rote learning.
Piano lessons run from absolute beginner through intermediate, across classical and contemporary music. The goal is a student who can actually read music and hear it, not one who has only memorized a handful of pieces. Reading, technique, and ear training are built in from the first lessons.
In a piano lesson
- Note reading and rhythm, from the very beginning
- Hand position, technique, and clean playing
- Ear training so the student hears what they play
- Classical and contemporary pieces, chosen with the student
- Theory woven into the music, never drilled in isolation
Beginners of any age, from around age five up, through to intermediate players who want a stronger foundation.

Piano lesson questions
- Do we need a piano at home?
- To start, an acoustic upright or a full-size weighted-key keyboard is enough. I can advise on options once you are on the waitlist.
- How young can a child start piano?
- Around age five works for most children. Reading and fine-motor skills matter more than age, so I check fit in the first lessons.
- Can adults start piano from scratch?
- Yes. Adult beginners are welcome, and lessons are paced for an adult learner rather than a child.
