Music lessons

Guitar lessons

Acoustic guitar, from the first chord.

Guitar lessons start at the very beginning: first chords, clean changes, and strumming that stays in time. Lessons are built around music the student wants to play, so practice feels like playing rather than drilling. Reading and a little theory come along the way.

Questions

Guitar lesson questions

How old should a child be to start guitar?
Around age eight, when hands are big enough for the fretboard. Younger children usually start on ukulele and move to guitar later.
Acoustic or electric?
Lessons are on acoustic guitar to begin with; it builds the cleanest foundation. A beginner acoustic is all that is needed to start.
I am an adult beginner. Will I keep up?
Yes. Lessons are paced to you, and adults often progress quickly because practice is consistent.
